Getting Around Vancouver
Public Transit
Transit is generally the best option for getting around the city.
TransLink is our public transit agency, which operates the SkyTrain (our subway system), the city's busses, and the SeaBus (a ferry that connects to North Vancouver).
You can either get a Compass Card from the SkyTrain station, or tap your credit card to pay. To plan a route, use Google Maps, or check out https://www.translink.ca/Schedules-and-Maps.aspx for schedules and maps.
Car Shares
Vancouver has a number of car sharing options, but the easiest one is Evo. You'll need to sign up for these in advance, but you can use your home province's driver's license info to do so.
These are great options if you want to go somewhere where transit is inconvenient, particularly if you're trying to leave the city.
Uber / Lyft
Vancouver finally has Uber and Lyft, which makes getting around much easier!
Hospital Shuttle
During the work week, from around 7:00AM to 5:00PM, there are inter-hospital shuttles that take you between VGH and St. Paul's, with connections to UBC and BC Children's Hospital.
